'More Masks than Jellyfish'
The improper disposal of masks have become hazardous for animals. Animals have become entangled in the straps or have mistaken masks for food. The consumption of masks can cause animals to choke on litter or become extremely malnourished.
Masks can contain polypropylene and polyester, which are plastic fibers that aren't biodegradable. As a result, masks that end up in our oceans remain there for years and is consumed by our marine animals. We must properly dispose our masks to preserve the biodiversity of our oceans!
